Summary:

Join us on the frontlines of translating behavioral science into action, and action into improved outcomes for both patients and the health organizations that serve them. We’re looking for a creative thinker and versatile writer who can apply consumer science (how + why people make healthcare buying decisions) to create patient-facing content that motivates people to get the care they need — then use key learnings to shape our client-facing technology and its positioning in the market.

In this role, you’ll use our proprietary psychographic segmentation model to develop clinical and marketing outreach on behalf of clients, finding creative ways to scale personalization — without sacrifice to quality or brand alignment — using AI. You’ll also partner with Product stakeholders to turn content and campaign learnings into platform improvements, and with Marketing and Sales teammates to tell a differentiated story of healthcare consumerism to executive audiences.

Today, our clients see us as experts whose technology and collaboration enables them to get their patients to act. Tomorrow, Health Catalyst will lead the charge in our industry, using consumer science to make patients feel more seen and known in their healthcare than ever before, while enabling provider organizations to deliver richer experiences. You will play a pivotal role in delivering on this vision, making a direct impact on patient experience, the product roadmap, client retention and growth, and healthcare at large.

What you’ll be doing:
This is a writing-first role (~80%), focused on strategic and high-impact content:

B2B & B2B2C Content Creation

  • Develop content that supports:
    • Healthcare buyers and decision-makers
    • Executive (C-suite) audiences
    • Product and go-to-market initiatives
  • Create assets such as:
    • Thought leadership (POVs, white papers, executive narratives)
    • Sales enablement materials (one-pagers, messaging frameworks)
    • Brand and campaign copy

Thought Leadership & Executive Storytelling

  • Write content that positions Health Catalyst as a leader in healthcare transformation
  • Support executive-level messaging and ghostwriting
  • Help shape narratives that influence market perception and category creation

Strategic Messaging & Positioning

  • Support product marketing and brand initiatives across teams
  • Ensure consistency across all external communications

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with:
    • Product Marketing (positioning and narrative development)
    • Brand Marketing (campaigns and messaging)
    • Sales (enablement and buyer-facing content)
  • Contribute insights that improve go-to-market strategy and messaging effectiveness

Performance & Optimization

  • Evaluate content effectiveness and refine messaging based on engagement and outcomes
  • Continuously improve clarity, resonance, and strategic impact of content

AI-Enabled Content Workflows

  • Use AI tools to support scale and efficiency while maintaining high-quality, human-driven writing

What you will need to be successful:
Core Qualifications

  • Exceptional writing ability (journalism, editorial, or B2B content background preferred)
  • Experience in B2B or B2B2C marketing, ideally in healthcare or health tech
  • Proven ability to write for executive and buyer audiences
  • Strong portfolio showcasing thought leadership, brand, and/or product marketing content

Key Skills & Traits

  • Strong critical thinker who can operate without a defined playbook
  • Ability to quickly understand and communicate complex healthcare concepts
  • Comfortable writing across:
    • Executive audiences
    • Technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Highly curious, proactive, and adaptable
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

Preferred Experience

  • Healthcare or health tech background

Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

4. WHAT DO YOU NEED IN YOUR PHYSICAL WORKSPACE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR WORK?

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
