Senior Software Engineer (fully remote domestically in USA)

About us: Molten Cloud empowers rights-holders of media content. Molten Cloud platform transforms and simplifies today's complex intellectual property rights, content and licensing operations — so that rights-holders are able to efficiently distribute and monetize their content globally. Our platform is used by film/TV organizations across 6 continents of the world to manage over 200M rights, hosting close to 10% of all movies (per imdb). Molten Cloud is a Cambridge-based startup, founded in the heart of MIT, committed to modernizing the archaic value-chain of media operations. We are a diverse team of hackers, hustlers, and hipsters, and are backed by leading media-tech investors such as Jack Dorsey, Ashton Kutcher and Lakestar.

As a Senior Software Engineer at Molten Cloud, you will join our product team in the following areas:
Take ownership of select modules - build, deploy and iterate upon them in Agile sprints
Contribute to the design, architecture, research and development of Molten Cloud’s core platform and applications (which may include aspects of data transmission, cryptography, back-end and front-end development)
Test accuracy, performance and scalability to deploy robust systems for global user groups
Incorporate user centricity in the product, meet directly with users to collect requirements and feedback to continuously improve and optimize the user experience
Collaborate with the business development team to best articulate and share the value proposition of your system to its users, and with our technology partners to design and integrate broader solutions

As an ideal fit for this role, you are:
Analytical: you have a rigorous academic background in computer science, math, physics or a similar field, and a proven ability to think original, learn new skills and build innovative software products
Entrepreneurial: you thrive in the startup environment, you take ownership of your work, you are passionate about ambitious ideas, and you can build teams around a shared vision; prior startup experience is a plus
Team-player: you recognize that your success lies in the success of the team, you take initiatives to continuously improve collaboration, productivity and performance of the team
Goal-oriented: when things seem to get overwhelming for most people, you have the demonstrated ability to put things in perspective, prioritize, and deliver results

Technical skill set: you are expected to be experienced and competent in Python, Javascript and MongoDB. Experience in API documentation, Vue.js, and devops tools is a strength, but is not required.

Our culture is about being rigorous at work and celebrating our big and small wins as a team. At Molten Cloud, you will have the opportunity to own and lead your own workstreams, learn from exceptional individuals on the team, and help build technology that matters across the world. From day one, every developer is given the power, support, and trust to deploy production code. You will receive competitive compensation with benefits including health, vision, dental, remote work, flexible (unlimited) time off, team offsites and more.
