<p>Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical / Hyperscale Data Centers</p><p>📍 Austin TX or San Antonio or Remote (US-based) | Full-Time | Salary range TBC</p><p><br></p><p>Plan B is retained exclusively by a leading multi-discipline building systems consultancy - a recognised expert in Mission Critical, Science & Technology, and Industrial sectors with 30+ years delivering high-performance engineering solutions - to find a Senior Electrical Engineer for their growing data center team.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a senior technical leadership role on hyperscale and mission critical data center programmes, working alongside a highly respected engineering team.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>The Role:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Lead electrical design from basis of design through construction documents and construction administration</li><li>Develop power system architecture - single-line diagrams, load summaries, MV/LV distribution, equipment schedules</li><li>Design and coordinate utility services, transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, ATS/STS, PDUs, grounding, and lighting systems</li><li>Direct short circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash studies</li><li>Drive interdisciplinary coordination across mechanical, controls, FP, structural, and BIM/VDC teams</li><li>Lead client and contractor engagement - design reviews, RFIs, submittals, and field issue resolution</li><li>Mentor junior engineers and contribute to repeatable design standards</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What our client is looking for:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)</li><li>8+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience with a strong mission critical / data center focus</li><li>Hyperscale data center experience strongly preferred</li><li>Solid knowledge of NEC / NFPA 70 and electrical safety principles</li><li>Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD; comfortable in BIM/VDC workflows</li><li>Strong communicator, able to lead technical discussions with clients, utilities, and contractors</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>PE licence (or actively working toward one)</li><li>Familiarity with TIA-942 and data center resiliency/tier concepts</li><li>Experience with power system analysis tools (SKM, ETAP, EasyPower or similar)</li><li>Fast-track, design-assist, and complex energisation/phasing experience</li><li>Commissioning coordination background</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What's on offer:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Fully remote role with occasional site visits (typically 10–25% travel)</li><li>Competitive salary + comprehensive benefits</li><li>Partial ESOP - share in the company's success</li><li>Structured path to partnership / leadership</li><li>Genuine investment in your professional development - training, industry events, CPD, and more</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Interested?
