Supports culture development and management efforts. The Adjunct Faculty member duties include teaching in their qualified, co-supervising or serving as Second Reader of capstone projects, and effectively mentoring graduate students in the program.<br><br><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><em><strong>Education/Experience For Masters Program:<br><br></strong></em><ul><li>A Master’s in the applied concentration, or a related field with extensive professional work experience in areas that allow for teaching within specific program is required. A Doctorate is preferred. </li><li>Minimum of one (1) year of related graduate teaching experience is required </li><li>State of Illinois Licensure required; LCP, LCPC</li><li>Specialized training in course designing, developing, and implementing training materials </li><li>Have a strong command of presentation software(s) and technology <br><br></li></ul><em><strong>Education/Experience For Doctoral Program:<br><br></strong></em><ul><li>A Doctorate in the applied concentration, or a related field with extensive professional work experience in areas that allow for teaching within specific program is required. </li><li>Minimum of one (1) year of related graduate teaching experience is required. </li><li>State of Illinois Licensure required; LCP, LCPC, Clinical Psychologist </li><li>Specialized training in course designing, developing, and implementing training materials </li><li>Have a strong command of presentation software(s) and technology<br><br></li></ul><strong>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Demonstrate a strong record and aptitude of graduate level teaching </li><li>A commitment to building a diverse community </li><li>Exemplify the scholar-practitioner training model in terms of curriculum design and/or delivery </li><li>Demonstrated sensitivity, knowledge and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender identity, sexual orientation, cultural, disability, and ethnic background of groups historically underrepresented, and groups who may have experienced discrimination. </li><li>Strong proficiency in community-engaged scholarship and other professional activities related to public policy and/or public administration </li><li>Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and professional staff </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to socially responsible practice, social justice issues and diversity are important </li><li>Ability to consistently identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations based on observations </li><li>Strong demonstration of alignment with Adler’s social justice mission and vision </li><li>Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and visioning acumen </li><li>Ability to proactively identify challenges and barriers to stated objective and employ assistance in addressing these </li><li>Strong collaboration acumen and abilities </li><li>Demonstration of Emotional Intelligence and professional maturity </li><li>Proficient and functional knowledge of MS Office (Work, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook) </li><li>Strong research acumen and abilities </li><li>Strong communication acumen including written, oral, and listening <br><br></li></ul><strong>Principal </strong><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><strong>Essential Duties & Responsibilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Teach courses in assigned discipline by communicating subject matter clearly and effectively. </li><li>Participate in faculty responsibilities such as: course and curriculum development and review, student learning outcomes and assessment, program review, committees, research and special projects as needed in the discipline/department or district. </li><li>Adapt methodologies for students with special needs and different learning styles. </li><li>Demonstrate commitment to professional development, including but not limited to activities such as: participation in professional conferences, workshops, seminars, membership in professional organizations, research projects, publishing academic work, participation in statewide committees or organizations, etc. </li><li>Demonstrate sensitivity in working with students and staff of diverse racial, ethnic, academic and socio-economic backgrounds, sexual orientation, and disabilities by showing respect for differences and the dignity of others. </li><li>Attend and participate in department, division and college meetings and keep posted office hours. </li><li>Meet record keeping obligations on time, e.g. grades, census, reports, rosters, textbook orders, and requisitions. </li><li>Perform other duties as outlined within teaching agreement <br><br></li></ul><strong>Location Requirements:<br><br></strong>Please note that, in the U.S., Adler University may only hire adjunct faculty who reside in states where the University is currently authorized to conduct business.<br><br>Authorized U.S. states currently include:<br><br><ul><li>Illinois</li><li>Arizona </li><li>Florida</li><li>Georgia </li><li>Kansas</li><li>Mississippi </li><li>Nevada </li><li>North Carolina </li><li>South Carolina </li><li>Tennessee </li><li>Texas </li><li>Virginia <br><br></li></ul><strong>Application Process:<br><br></strong>Please include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, unofficial transcripts.
