JOB SUMMARY:

Maintains efficient warehouse operations by meticulously receiving, inspecting, storing, and shipping customer goods and materials. Ensures product accuracy and integrity through thorough inspections, proper labeling, and adherence to quality control, and safety procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engages in daily activities of receiving, inspecting, labeling, storing, and moving customers’ goods and materials within the warehouse. Maintains efficient warehouse operations by meticulously receiving, inspecting, labeling, storing, and retrieving customer goods and materials. Ensures product accuracy and integrity through thorough inspections upon arrival, proper labeling for easy identification, and precise storage according to established procedures. Optimizes warehouse space by efficiently storing and retrieving goods, maximizing space utilization.
  • Conducts thorough inspections of incoming goods and materials to verify accurate quantity, identify any damage or signs of tampering, and ensure product integrity. Documents discrepancies on the provided handheld by completing Over, Short, and Damage (OSD) reports, including photographic evidence, and promptly communicates these findings to customer service teams and affected customers.
  • Operates various material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and similar equipment, to efficiently load, unload, and maneuver goods within the warehouse. Verifies pre-loading inspections of trailers are completed, to ensure their safety and suitability for transporting customer goods. Proactively identifies and reports any unsafe conditions to the Team Lead. The ability to obtain certifications for operating specific equipment may be required.
  • Ensures order accuracy and efficiency by reviewing, processing, and maintaining documentation for all incoming and outgoing shipments (bills of lading, airway bills, packing lists, etc.). Identifies and reports any discrepancies to the team lead for prompt resolution. Maintains inventory control by meticulously comparing packing lists with physical materials, performing data entry into our inventory control software system, and conducting regular cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Prioritizes a safe work environment by adhering to all safety regulations, completing safety checklists, and utilizing appropriate safety equipment such as dock plates and dock restraining systems, trailer jacks, wheel chocks, and glad hand locks.
  • Utilizes warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software applications to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory levels, order fulfillment, and stock movement. Prepares and maintains essential warehouse documentation including BOLs, order requisitions, packing slips, and discrepancy reports.
  • Continuously identifies opportunities for improvement in warehouse processes by suggesting solutions. Maintains compliance with ISO 2015 standards by actively referring to established procedures and adapting them as needed.
  • Contributes to a safe and organized work environment by upholding 5S principles, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment by being vigilant and reporting any unusual, unacceptable, improper, or illegal activities observed within the warehouse.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, experience, certification):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year minimum of forklift experience is highly preferred.
  • Must have or be able to immediately obtain an approved internal re-certification for driving forklift trucks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and safe environment.
  • Ability to follow all safety policies and accident prevention procedures.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of warehouse operation, inventory control, and relevant equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and G-Suite.
  • Interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • High level of accuracy, and attention to detail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lifting: Ability to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Carrying: Ability to carry objects for extended distances.
  • Pushing and Pulling: Ability to push and pull heavy carts and objects.
  • Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Climbing: May require occasional climbing on ladders.
  • Bending, Stooping, and Reaching: Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to pick up boxes to shelves at various heights.
  • Dexterity: Ability to handle and manipulate small objects with precision.
  • Vision: Ability to see clearly at close and far distances to read labels, operate equipment, and identify potential hazards.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

This position offers the opportunity to earn a quarterly performance-based bonus on top of base salary. The bonus is awarded based on the quality of work, process, and safety adherence.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Subject to work under changing weather conditions. May be subject to moderate noise levels and work outside of the building. A high level of flexibility may be required; must be willing to be on-call or report to work after regular work hours.
