This is a remote position. Occasional travel to the office location may be required.

Saviynt is looking for an experienced Associate Principal Technical Writer to lead documentation for technically complex, cloud-native identity and AI security capabilities.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical communication skills with hands-on expertise in cloud platforms, identity and authorization technologies, and AI security, and is comfortable independently exploring and configuring complex products.

You will also help shape our agentic documentation strategy, driving AI-enabled automation and AI-ready content practices across the Product Documentation team.

What you will be doing:

  • Independently explore, configure, and test complex, cloud-native security capabilities, including those powered by AI, to deeply understand their functionality and use cases.
  • Craft high-quality technical documentation, such as configuration guides, integration instructions, API references, and troubleshooting resources, that resonate with enterprise customers.
  • Drive the development of documentation for online help systems, release notes, and product feature guides, ensuring technical accuracy and clarity.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and other subject matter experts to translate intricate technical details into accessible and user-friendly content.
  • Own documentation strategy and execution for complex, cloud-native identity and AI security capabilities, from early development through release and ongoing improvements.
  • Independently investigate complex technical scenarios involving cloud infrastructure, AI agents, non-human identities, authentication and authorization, APIs, and runtime access controls.
  • Design, implement, and scale AI-enabled and agentic documentation workflows for content generation, validation, and quality improvement, including practices for AI/LLM-ready content and retrieval readiness.
  • Take ownership of major documentation initiatives from conception through delivery, ensuring a consistent and high standard of quality across all output.
  • Mentor and guide other technical writers, sharing your expertise to elevate the entire documentation team’s capabilities.
  • Analyze documentation usage, performance data, and stakeholder feedback to identify knowledge gaps and drive measurable improvement.

Why you'll love this role

  • Get energized by unraveling complex technical challenges and translating them into clear, actionable guidance for users.
  • Care deeply about the customer experience and ensuring they can successfully adopt and benefit from sophisticated security technologies.
  • Enjoy working with emerging technologies such as generative AI and helping shape AI-enabled and agentic approaches to documentation creation, validation, and delivery.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment where you can independently investigate, learn, and proactively identify documentation needs and opportunities.
  • Take pride in owning critical documentation projects and seeing them through to successful completion with minimal oversight.

What you bring

  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and cloud-native technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, enterprise security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and emerging AI security concepts, including authentication and authorization standards such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, JWT, and policy-based access control.
  • Demonstrated experience applying generative AI/LLM technologies to documentation or knowledge workflows, including familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts and designing content for AI/LLM consumption and retrieval readiness.
  • Hands-on experience with REST APIs, Git-based workflows, Markdown, Jira, and modern documentation platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI security concepts, AI agents, and non-human identities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for simplifying complex technical information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, enabling you to independently investigate and resolve technical ambiguities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including Product Managers and Engineers, and build strong SME relationships.
  • A keen eye for technical accuracy, usability, and a deep focus on customer needs.
  • Skill in mentoring and developing colleagues, contributing to the growth of the Documentation team.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of technical writing or technical content development experience for enterprise software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, English, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and developing documentation for technically complex, cloud-native products, preferably in the security or identity management space.

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?
