Overview

The Staff Accountant I, reporting to the Controller, will assist in the financial reporting process with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements. The Staff Accountant I supports the accounting and finance team by performing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheets accounts
  • Reconcile, maintain, and monitor sub-ledgers for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Inventory
  • Maintain financial records and supporting documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and relevant regulatory standards
  • Fixed assets and prepaid assets accounting
  • Support payroll processing and related accounting entries as needed
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Assist with special projects and prepare ad hoc analysis and reports
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in public or private industry accounting
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc)
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Experienced in reconciliations
  • Experienced in payroll systems and processes
  • High level of proficiency in Excel using data analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with analytical problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a new role
  • Interest in cars and car care, a plus!

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry items up to 20 pounds

Work Location: On-site in Tacoma, WA

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000-$80,000 per year

The base pay range for this position in Tacoma, Washington is $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
