Scrum Master (REMOTE)

Koniag Professional Services, Inc a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Scrum Master to support KPS and our government customer. The position is remote. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

This position will be part of a team supporting a Federal client with a business and IT modernization project.
The Facilitator serves as the direct liaison between the contractor team and the USDA government product team. This person keeps the agile development process running smoothly and ensures the team delivers value every sprint.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the contractor team and USDA's Product Owner
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Manage and supervise all contractor personnel on the project
  • Remove blockers and ensure the team can deliver working software iteratively
  • Track team velocity and help maintain a healthy, prioritized product backlog
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues clearly to USDA stakeholders
  • Ensure the team adheres to core working hours (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time)
  • Coordinate travel requests with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) prior to booking
  • Support onboarding and offboarding of contractor personnel per USDA separation requirements
Required Skills:
  • Background as a Scrum Master, product manager, or agile coach
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working on federal government IT projects
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, iterative environment
  • Familiarity with agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar)
Education & Experience:Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in project or program management, with at least 3 years serving as a Scrum Master, agile coach, or product manager on software development projects
  • Experience managing contractor teams on federal government IT contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate agile ceremonies and coach teams on agile best practices
  • Experience working directly with government Product Owners and Contracting Officer's Representatives
Certifications:
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master, or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) strongly preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
