Key Responsibilities

Core Transcription Duties

  • Listen to recorded dictations from physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals and transcribe them into well‑formatted, error‑free medical documents.
  • Apply industry‑standard formatting guidelines, including proper headings, abbreviations, and punctuation.
  • Verify patient identifiers, dates, and medication names to prevent any potential misinterpretation.

Quality Assurance & Editing

  • Perform a second‑level review of each transcription, correcting grammar, spelling, and typographical errors.
  • Cross‑check medical terminology against the latest coding manuals (ICD‑10, CPT, SNOMED) to ensure compliance.
  • Utilize arenaflex’s proprietary quality‑control software to flag inconsistencies and suggest improvements.

Confidentiality & Compliance

  • Handle all patient information in strict accordance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other applicable privacy regulations.

Collaboration & Communication

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in health information management, medical terminology, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 12 months of professional medical transcription experience, preferably in a remote or virtual setting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, Dragon Medical), reputed company Office Suite, and secure cloud‑based platforms.
