[Remote] IBM ZOS Integration Consultant

The IBM z/OS Integration Consultant will design, configure, and support secure, resilient enterprise integration solutions connecting distributed applications with core banking services on IBM z/OS. The role will troubleshoot complex integration issues, evolve strategic integration platforms, and support modern API-based integration across the mainframe environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and support enterprise integration solutions across IBM z/OS
- Configure and maintain integration middleware supporting business-critical services
- Deliver integrations that satisfy functional, performance, resilience, and security requirements
- Work with application teams, architects, and infrastructure teams to define integration designs
- Investigate complex production incidents and identify long-term improvements
- Produce technical documentation, solution designs, and operational procedures
- Support continuous improvement of HClient's integration platforms and engineering standards
Skills
- Strong experience developing or supporting applications on IBM z/OS
- Good understanding of CICS, Db2 and COBOL
- Experience analysing application flows and troubleshooting complex technical issues
- Experience using Endevor, Jira, SNOW, or equivalent source management tools
- Experience with IBM MQ messaging
- Knowledge of API integration technologies, including z/OS Connect EE or equivalent mainframe API frameworks
- Understanding of synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns
- Experience implementing secure, resilient integrations between distributed and mainframe applications
- Understanding of REST APIs and enterprise integration principles
- Experience supporting and resolving integration issues
- Knowledge of monitoring and diagnostic tooling such as OMEGAMON, Fault Analyzer and dump analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- 10+ years of experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across global teams
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams
- Understanding of workload scheduling tools such as TWS is also desirable
- Banking or financial services experience is advantageous
