[Remote] Agile Delivery Analyst (Azure DevOps / ALM)

Agile Delivery Analyst (Azure DevOps / ALM)

Department: Engineering | Location: Remote | Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking a mid-level Agile Delivery Analyst who is equal parts Agile coach, client advisor, and Azure DevOps practitioner. You will be the primary point of contact for 30 to 40 concurrent projects using Azure Boards, guiding product owners, scrum masters, and delivery teams on how to structure work, maintain data quality, and get meaningful reporting out of the platform. Success in this role depends less on deep pipeline engineering and more on communication, facilitation, and a genuine command of the software development lifecycle and application lifecycle management.

This is a visible role. You will run working sessions with government stakeholders, explain tradeoffs to non-technical audiences, and translate leadership questions into dashboards and queries that answer them.

Requirements

Client Engagement and Agile Guidance

  • Serve as the day-to-day client-facing advisor for Azure Boards across a portfolio of 30 to 40 projects, each with its own team, cadence, and maturity level
  • Coach product owners and delivery teams on backlog structure, work item hygiene, estimation, sprint planning, and definition of done
  • Facilitate or support Scrum ceremonies as needed, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Onboard new teams and projects, including process selection, team setup, and initial training
  • Run office hours, working sessions, and tailored training for stakeholders at varying levels of Agile fluency
  • Identify patterns across the portfolio and recommend standards that improve consistency without imposing unnecessary overhead

Azure Boards Administration

  • Administer Azure DevOps organizations, projects, teams, area paths, and iteration paths at portfolio scale
  • Configure and maintain inherited and custom process templates, work item types, fields, states, rules, and workflows
  • Manage security groups, access levels, and permissions, and resolve access issues quickly
  • Configure boards, backlogs, sprint views, taskboards, and delivery plans to match each team’s working model
  • Maintain cross-project links and hierarchies that support portfolio-level rollup

Reporting and Analytics

  • Build and maintain queries, charts, dashboards, and Power BI reports drawing on Azure DevOps Analytics and OData
  • Produce recurring delivery metrics including velocity, burndown, burnup, cumulative flow, cycle time, lead time, and throughput
  • Support program and contract reporting needs, including status reporting, milestone tracking, and monthly deliverables
  • Audit work item data quality across projects and drive remediation with teams

SDLC and ALM

  • Advise on how requirements, design, development, test, and release activities are represented and traced in Azure Boards
  • Establish and maintain traceability from requirements through test cases and defects, including Azure Test Plans where used
  • Align Boards configuration with Repos and Pipelines so that work items, commits, pull requests, and releases connect cleanly
  • Document standards, SOPs, and playbooks, and keep them current as practices evolve

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
