Reddit Marketer (Part-time - Freelance)

About the position

Outpost is a fast-growing, tech-enabled marketing agency focused entirely on Reddit. We help brands earn a real, lasting presence in the communities that shape how people discover and choose them. Reddit has become a trusted place where people seek honest opinions before making purchases. Brands often struggle to navigate this space effectively, leading to negative outcomes. Outpost takes a transparent, 'white-hat' approach, representing brands authentically and earning attention by being genuinely useful in relevant conversations. Our work involves joining existing conversations about clients and building a dedicated community space for them through a proprietary platform, with real people handling the writing and judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Own a client's presence on Reddit, managing their branded Reddit accounts and subreddit.
  • Represent the brand as the voice in relevant communities.
  • Understand the client's business, products, and customer language.
  • Utilize a platform to identify and engage in relevant conversations.
  • Apply Reddit-specific judgment to engage appropriately.
  • Make the brand a welcome, trusted member of its communities and build genuine goodwill.
  • Engage in community engagement by commenting, posting, and running AMAs on the brand's behalf, including in threads where the brand is compared or discussed negatively.
  • Respond to high-priority threads quickly, ideally within the hour and at the latest within 24 hours.
  • Help build and run the client's own subreddit, turning existing content into subreddit material, keeping it active and welcoming, and moderating it.
  • Act as the company's eyes on the ground, flagging buyer sentiment and actionable insights for monthly client intelligence reports.

Requirements

  • Deep Reddit knowledge, understanding its culture, what earns traction, and what gets removed.
  • A marketing background (content, social media, SEO, or AEO/GEO).
  • Ability to write like a person, not a marketer.
  • Comfortable putting your name to a brand publicly.
  • Real enthusiasm for the brands you would represent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Agency experience is a plus.

Benefits

  • Compensation: \$1,000 to \$3,500 per client, per month, based on client activity.
  • Fully remote work location.
  • Flexible hours, with 1-2 hours of meetings per week.
