Pharmacy Customer Service Representative

At OptumRx, you will take 50 - 70 calls per day from members with questions about their prescriptions. You will use your personality and our tools to make each call successful and contribute to helping customers and their care providers. This is a full-time role with opportunities for growth.
Schedule and Training
This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Sunday - Saturday. Flexibility to work any 8-hour shift during 10:30 am – 10:00 pm CST is required. Hours are subject to change based on business needs and may include occasional overtime or weekend work. Training consists of 5 weeks (4 weeks classroom, 1 week on-the-job) from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm CST, Monday – Friday (100% attendance required). Training is conducted virtually from home and requires camera use. After training, you will be assigned a schedule within 10:30 am – 10:00 pm CST, Sunday – Saturday.
Primary Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming calls from customers on issues related to benefit eligibility and prescription status inquiries
- Schedule deliveries of medications for shipments as needed
- Guide and educate callers on prescription benefits, plan use, formulary, premiums and status of orders and claims or inquiries
- Practice active listening, ask appropriate follow-up questions and document required information in applicable applications / computer systems
- Identify issues and communicate solutions and steps to customers, pharmacies and physicians with prescription orders and recorders
- Occasionally required to make outbound calls to internal / external partners
This role requires research of complex issues pertaining to member prescription and/or pharmacy benefits across multiple databases, requiring fluency in computer navigation and compassionate engagement with callers.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Customer service experience in a call center environment
- Ability to submit / upload updated copy of resume in your profile
- Ability to handle multiple screens while navigating several systems with your caller on the line
- Ability to work any 8-hour shift during 10:30 am – 10:00 pm CST from Sunday – Saturday, including occasional pre-scheduled / voluntary overtime
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in a related environment (office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and computers
- Pharmacy background
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
Telecommuting Requirements
- Remain able to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Maintain a dedicated work area separated from living areas to ensure privacy
- Must live where there is UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet or have access to existing high-speed internet

Compensation and Benefits
Pay is based on factors including location, education, experience, and certifications. The hourly pay range is $16.00 – $27.69 for full-time employment. Benefits include a comprehensive package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401(k) contributions, subject to eligibility.
