[ ]{#ctl00_Main_content_lblJobDescriptionValue}<br><br>RIGGER: Gulf of Mexico Platforms/Vessels- Offshore<br><br>Assembles rigging to lift and move equipment or material on construction project. Work locations may vary (offshore).<br><br>Duties And Responsibilities<br><br>Selects cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved.<br><br>Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, with bolts and clamps.<br><br>Attaches load with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains, to crane hook.<br><br>Gives directions to personnel engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled, using hand signals, loudspeaker, or telephone.<br><br>Sets up, braces, and rigs hoisting equipment, using hand tools and power wrenches.<br><br>Splices rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle.<br><br><strong>Basic Qualifications<br><br></strong>Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.<br><br><strong>Workers Should Be Able To<br><br></strong>Direct or plan an activity; Attain set limits or standards;<br><br>Do simple arithmetic accurately; and make decisions based on measurable standards.<br><br>Physically, workers must be able to: See well (naturally or with correction);<br><br>Climb and/or maintain balance; Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; Reach for, handle, and manipulate objects;<br><br>Lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds or more, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds or more; and work at heights.<br><br>Work offshore on a scheduled rotation (rotation durations are not guaranteed).<br><br>Provide your own transportation to and from the crew change locations.<br><br>Work in remote locations with very limited access to telephones.<br><br>Be flexible in order to work any available position.<br><br>Perform the essential functions of your job with or without reasonable accommodation.<br><br>Live and work in confined spaces with others.<br><br>Follow company regulations regarding personal hygiene.<br><br>Travel by helicopter or crew boat to the work sites.<br><br>Wear approved, steel-toed, skid and oil resistant shoes while at work.<br><br>Work holidays, if scheduled.<br><br>Understand no jewelry while working.<br><br>Must be able to read and write and understand Taylors International Services Safety Policies and Procedures for your own safety.<br><br>Apply for a passport if needed<br><br>Pass a post-offer/pre-employment physical and drug screen.<br><br>Complete Taylors International Services orientation and complete all HSE training components in a timely manner as directed by the HSE department<br><br>Successfully Complete Water Survival Course (HUET/MET5) and our customers training courses.<br><br>Live and work in a smoke-free environment for duration of hitch.<br><br>Please take into consideration that this position is an offshore position. You will be required to work in remote locations with very limited access to telephones for several weeks at a time. You must provide your own transportation to the crew change
