Meat Cutter and Butcher - LMIA Job with PR Pathway

Job Summary:

As a Meat Cutter / Butcher, you will be responsible for preparing standard cuts of meat, ensuring product quality, maintaining high sanitation standards, and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cut, trim, and prepare meat products according to specifications and customer requirements

  • Ensure the quality, freshness, and proper presentation of meat products

  • Use knives, saws, cleavers, and other tools to perform precise meat cutting

  • Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards throughout the work area

  • Package, label, and store meat products according to company and health regulations

  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking and ordering supplies

  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients (if applicable)

  • Follow all safety procedures and adhere to company policies and government regulations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Proven experience as a meat cutter, butcher, or in a similar role

  • Knowledge of different meat cuts and preparation techniques

  • Ability to work with sharp tools and heavy equipment safely

  • Familiarity with sanitation and food safety standards

  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail

  • Basic understanding of English (reading and communication)

Experience:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in meat cutting or butchery

  • Experience in a retail, grocery store, or meat processing facility is a strong asset

Working Hours:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week

  • Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on business needs

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of meat preparation, safety, and hygiene procedures

  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy loads
