VIRTUAL and FLEXIBLE | K-12 Math and ELA Tutor - City Teaching Alliance. Online Part-Time Tutoring. Powered by Teachers. Perform VIRTUAL-only ELA and Math tutoring for K-12 students across the United States with flexible hours and competitive pay. This is a virtual role; you will work with students nationwide. Pay: up to $36.00 per hour for HS math (prorated) plus a 10% bonus. The total per one-hour tutoring session is typically $39.60. Rates may be higher than many tutoring options and can vary by engagement (some lessons provided may reduce instructional lift, with rates around $30-$32 per hour plus 10%). This is not a full-time role. Upon admission to the TbT teacher community, you may express interest and accept tutoring engagements. Pay rates may vary by engagement.

The Role
We are seeking teachers to provide virtual small-group instruction to students across the country (grades K-12). Engagement opportunities include summer programs and remediation support. Engagements can run from fourteen to thirty weeks and typically require a few hours of weekly commitment. Staffing is not guaranteed after admission, but opportunities continue as engagements arise.
Responsibilities
- Provide virtual small-group instruction for Math and/or ELA to K-12 students.
- Engage with school partners through a range of programs from summer academies to remediation support.
- Commit to engagements lasting 14–30 weeks with a few hours per week.
- Prepare for sessions and log notes as required.
Qualifications
This role requires you to have experience as a US teacher. To be successful, you must have:
- Experience teaching Math and/or ELA in the classroom
- Experience teaching in an online environment
- Working knowledge of Google Classroom and Zoom
Bonus points for:
- Experience with remediation, intervention, or small-group instruction
- Experience with secondary math
- SPED or ELL teaching experience
- Bi-Lingual
- AP course experience (any APs) helpful
- Dedication to advancing equity in schools
- Active teaching credential
