Key Skills - GHES, GitHub Enterprise Cloud, migration strategy, repository architecture.
Responsibilities -
- Lead assessment of current GitHub Enterprise Cloud footprint, repositories, workflows, integrations, and dependencies.
- Develop migration strategies for repositories, branches, pull requests, workflows, actions, secrets, and user permissions.
- Establish migration waves, cutover planning, rollback procedures, and validation mechanisms.
- Drive platform readiness and operational acceptance criteria.
Must Have -
- Hands-on experience leading enterprise-scale migrations involving GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC). GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES). Azure DevOps, GitLab, Bitbucket. or similar platforms.
- Proven experience migrating:
- Source code repositories
- Branching strategies and repository governance
- Pull requests and associated metadata
- CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Secrets and credentials management
- Developer access models and permissions
- Experience planning and executing migration waves, cutover activities, rollback strategies, and post-migration validation.
- Demonstrated success delivering platform migrations with minimal developer disruption and no loss of source code integrity.
- Experience assessing and remediating dependencies on third-party integrations, GitHub Actions, runners, artifact repositories, security scanners, and deployment platforms.
Familiarity with migration automation tools, GitHub CLI. GitHub Enterprise Importer (GEl), repository replication strategies, and validation frameworks
