Generalist Recruiter

Second Front Systems is looking for a metric-driven, high-agency, detail-obsessed Generalist Recruiter to strengthen our talent acquisition function across engineering, ops, growth, mission success, and sales.

Operating at the seam between commercial software talent and mission-driven defense work, you will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and placing candidates who meet both the technical bar and the mission-driven mindset across multiple functions while building warm benches for hard-to-fill and senior roles.

You will architect sourcing strategies using Boolean search and LinkedIn Recruiter, manage concurrent pipelines in Ashby, read candidate motivation and close offers with precision, and synchronize criteria and feedback with hiring managers across functions, ensuring that every pipeline moves forward, late-stage drop-off is caught early, and time-to-fill and offer-acceptance metrics improve.

We need someone capable of owning full-cycle recruiting across technical and commercial functions with minimal supervision and shifting evaluation criteria role to role; sourcing passive talent at scale, qualifying fit under ambiguity, and negotiating offers confidently while reading motivation and preventing candidate attrition; and operating Ashby with fluency—pipeline configuration, reporting, workflow automation—and using metrics to adjust sourcing strategy mid-search.

As a key partner to hiring managers across engineering, sales, ops, growth, and mission success, you will keep every search moving without one going cold, surface high-signal candidates ahead of market competitors, and maintain sharp candidate experience through every round, serving as primary recruiting point of contact who pushes back on unrealistic specs without becoming a bottleneck and builds market and competitor intelligence into sourcing approach.

Note: Candidates must reside in one of our approved hiring hubs:

DC/Maryland/Virginia

Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, NC

Denver/Colorado Springs, CO

Dallas/Fort Worth, TX

What You'll Do

Source high-signal candidates across Engineering, Ops, Growth, Mission Success, and Sales through LinkedIn Recruiter, referrals, and passive outreach

Govern 8–15 concurrent requisitions end-to-end from intake through offer close, preventing pipeline stagnation on any single req

Synchronize with hiring managers across functions to define role requirements, calibrate candidate standards, and maintain tight feedback loops

Architect Ashby as your system of record, keeping pipelines, stages, and candidate data clean and current

Orchestrate candidate experience that holds top talent engaged through every interview round and maintains responsiveness

Mitigate cultural misalignment by representing 2F's mission authentically at every candidate touchpoint from initial outreach through final offer

Assess hiring manager specs into sourcing Boolean and screening rubrics, catching over-specification early and pushing back on unrealistic timelines before pipeline risk compounds

Synchronize feedback loops across concurrent searches — consolidating hiring manager input, candidate signals, and market intelligence into weekly pipeline decisions that keep offers moving and prevent late-stage drop-off

What You Bring

3–5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience owning concurrent searches across technical and commercial functions

Hands-on fluency with Ashby or comparable ATS — pipeline configuration, reporting, and workflow automation, not data entry

Recruiting experience across Engineering, Ops, Growth, Mission Success, and Sales — vocabulary and evaluation criteria shift with the role

Closer's instinct — reads candidate motivation, negotiates offers confidently, identifies late-stage drop-off risk

Metrics-driven approach — tracks time-to-fill, source yield, offer-acceptance rate and adjusts search strategy in real time, not post-mortem

Extend and negotiate offers, partnering with compensation/HR as needed to close candidates

Startup or high-growth company experience — comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and building as you go rather than following an established playbook

Familiarity with niche or cleared talent pools (e.g., security clearance requirements, specialized technical skill sets)

The base salary for this position will fall between $100,000 and $115,000. Your ultimate compensation will be determined by professional background, technical proficiency, seniority, and regional cost factors. Furthermore, this opportunity includes potential eligibility for equity awards and discretionary bonuses, rounding out a comprehensive total rewards offering.

Success at 2F Looks Like:

A proactive and solutions oriented mindset

Viewing obstacles as opportunities for growth

Having a bias toward action and tangible, measurable results

Being team-oriented with a focus on personal responsibility and autonomy

Perks & Benefits:

This role is a full time position. 2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?
