Full-Stack Developer — NBA/NFL Sports Prop Research Platform

Full-Stack Developer Needed — NBA/NFL Sports Prop Research Platform

I’m looking for an experienced full-stack developer to build an MVP for a web-based NBA and NFL player-prop research platform.

The goal is to create a research tool similar in concept to PropFinder/Prop Cash, where users can quickly research player props using current sportsbook lines, historical player performance, hit rates, game logs, splits, and sportsbook comparisons.

Core MVP Features

1. Today’s Props

* NBA and NFL player props

* Current sportsbook lines and odds

* Player, team, opponent, and game information

* L5/L10/L20/season hit rates

* Average and median performance

* Filters by sport, player, market, sportsbook, and game

2. Player Research

* Player profile

* Historical game logs

* L5/L10/L20/season performance

* Hit rates for selected prop lines

* Average/median

* Home/away splits

* Opponent history

* Performance charts

3. Prop Research

* Research a specific player + prop

* Historical hit rates

* Alternate lines

* Sportsbook comparison

* Opening/current/closing lines when available

* Line movement and historical odds

4. Cheatsheet

* Display the entire daily NBA/NFL prop slate

* Sort/filter by player, market, sportsbook, hit rate, and sample size

* Quickly identify and research individual props

Data/API Requirements

I am currently evaluating sports-data providers such as SportsGameOdds and SportsDataIO.

The application will need to work with NBA and NFL data including:

* Player statistics

* Game logs

* Player props

* Sportsbook lines and odds

* Alternate lines

* Historical odds

* Line movement

* Results/settlement

* Player/team information

* Injuries/matchup information where available

A major requirement is being able to store historical data in our own database and calculate derived statistics such as L5/L10/L20 hit rates.

The developer should validate the API capabilities and data licensing before the full application is built.

Technical Requirements

Looking for someone experienced with:

* Full-stack web development

* React / Next.js

* Python or Node.js

* REST API integrations

* PostgreSQL/database design

* Data-heavy applications

* Frequently updated/real-time data

* Authentication

* Stripe/payment integration

* Cloud deployment

Sports API, sportsbook, fantasy sports, or betting-related development experience is a major plus.

Development Process

I want the project broken into milestones rather than building everything at once.

Initial milestones should be:

1. API validation + database architecture

2. API integration + data ingestion

3. Today’s Props dashboard

4. Player Research

5. Prop Research

6. Cheatsheet + filters

7. User accounts + Stripe

8. Testing + production deployment

The first milestone should prove that the selected API can provide the required NBA/NFL prop data and that the data can successfully be stored and retrieved from our database.

When Applying

Please provide:

1. Examples of similar API/data-heavy applications you’ve built

2. Examples of sports, betting, fantasy, or real-time data projects

3. Your experience with PostgreSQL

4. Your experience with React/Next.js

5. Your experience integrating third-party APIs

6. Your hourly rate or estimated fixed-price cost

7. Your estimated timeline

8. How you would architect this application

9. Any concerns or changes you would recommend to this specification

Please don’t send a generic portfolio response. I specifically want to see relevant API/data-heavy work.

I am looking for someone who can potentially continue working on the product after the MVP if the project gains traction.
